In November, the CARICOM Secretariat, in partnership with regional institutions, celebrated CARICOM Energy Month 2023 with the theme “Accelerating Innovation – Driving Electrification,” engaging the youth of St. Kitts and Nevis in renewable energy technologies.
High school students from across the Federation visited the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s solar parking lot. The tour, led by ECCB staff, provided practical insights into the operation of a solar-powered facility and showcased the integration of sustainable land management with renewable energy.
Students actively engaged in the tour, asking questions about solar energy applications. The event concluded with a networking session over refreshments, where students shared their learnings and impressions.
This initiative successfully fostered a deeper understanding of sustainable energy solutions among the youth, empowering them with knowledge about the future of energy and sustainability.
